Case study summary

Our previous iteration of the BlackBerry zone on T-Mobile.co.uk had been performing better than we had thought it would, within four weeks of launch we saw a 23% increase in sales of BlackBerry smartphones on T-Mobile.co.uk, a 109% increase through the dedicated section and at peak conversion had doubled.

So, it was going to take some careful planning and smart design work in order to keep the momentum and keep delivering outstanding results when it came to update it to feature several new BlackBerry smartphones.

We had recently usability tested the original zone and found several key areas we could improve upon, these were addressed as part of the project. But we needed something more, something interactive that our customers could use to really explore the BlackBerry smartphone range. So we introduced interactive flash "tours" for each BlackBerry handset on the product pages, these allowed the user to interact and explore the new (and existing) range of smartphones, trying out new features right on the screen.

We worked closely on this Optimisation project with BlackBerry themselves and they now regard the BlackBerry zone as "Best in class" amongst the UK mobile network operators.
